So how does a person decide to write erotica? By reading too much of it! I read a lot of books, and after reading too many smutty romantasy novels about hot fairies and vampires, I started thinking I should give it a try.

I’ve always had a talent for creative writing, but I’d never tried writing dialogue before. I figured a good place to practice would be on Lush Stories, where I’d read the stories for years, but never participated.

Submitting My First Story

I based my first story on a true experience of mine. It’s really a small bit of truth with a whole lot of imagination.

On my very first try, my story earned a “Top Story” badge, and that made me excited to write more!

Writing short stories is giving me a lot of practice in writing dialogue. My first story came back with several edits, and the helpful suggestion to try Grammarly.

Using Grammarly to check the punctuation has been a huge help! My articles are now usually approved with no edits needed.

Working on a Novel

I’m taking a big leap by getting started on an actual novel, which is something I’ve always wanted to write.

I turned 50 last year and started to think about what I wanted to accomplish that I hadn’t tried yet. Writing a book was at the top of the list.

I’m currently in the very beginning “world-building” stage, figuring out the story, characters, and the world they live in.

I wanted to start my own website to share the process and maybe some other stories as well.

So here we are! Looking forward to writing more and building this site along the way.
